The HCWDB is one of four local area workforce development boards within the State of Hawaii. These boards work collaboratively to address the unique workforce needs of their respective regions while aligning with statewide workforce development strategies. By coordinating efforts and sharing best practices, the four boards ensure a comprehensive and effective approach to workforce development across the Hawaiian Islands.

Mission
The mission of the Hawaii County Workforce Development Board is to promote the development of a highly competent and productive workforce by coordinating the efforts of educational institutions, labor, business, economic development organizations, government agencies and the entire community in order to sustain a strong economy and lifestyle.
